Responsibility & Liability

2North Expeditions arranges services provided by independent third-party suppliers, including hotels, transportation companies, guides, and activity providers. Each service is subject to the supplier’s own terms and conditions.

2North Expeditions and its employees, agents, representatives, contractors, and successors are not responsible for injuries, losses, damages, delays, accidents, or other problems caused by a supplier’s negligence, errors, omissions, or failure to perform. We are also not responsible for losses, cancellations, expenses, or disruptions caused by events beyond our control, including severe weather, illness, strikes, civil unrest, war, terrorism, government action, border issues, or other force majeure events.

All services and accommodations are governed by the laws and regulations of the country where they are provided. 2North Expeditions is not responsible for travelers’ luggage, equipment, or personal belongings.

Each traveler is responsible for obtaining insurance they wish to purchase and for expenses not covered by insurance.

Payment Schedule

- Payment schedules for small group journeys vary and are provided in the trip’s specific materials, such as its website page or detailed PDF.

- Payment schedules for bespoke itineraries are provided before trip registration.

An initial deposit is required when you register to secure the reservation. Typical deposits are approx. $900 per person for small-group journeys and variable for bespoke itineraries.

Final payment is generally due 60–120 days before departure, depending on the trip.

Deposits and final payments may be paid by credit card, check, or bank transfer. Credit-card payments are subject to a 3% processing fee. If checks are being mailed, it must be early enough to arrive and clear by the applicable deadline.

Cancellation Policy

- Cancellation terms for small-group journeys vary by trip and are provided in the trip’s specific materials, such as its website page or detailed PDF.

- Cancellation terms for bespoke itineraries are provided before trip registration.

In general, cancellation penalties increase as the departure date approaches. Travelers are also responsible for cancellation fees charged by third-party suppliers, including airlines and hotels. Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing. These policies apply in all cases and are not subject to exceptions.

Refunds

Leaving a trip after it has started, for any reason, does not qualify for a refund. We do not provide refunds for services you choose not to use, including hotel stays, transportation, meals, tours, activities, or other sightseeing arrangements.

Rates & Surcharges

We make every effort to honor the prices listed in our original trip materials. However, unusual cost increases between publication and departure—such as changes in currency exchange rates, taxes, airfare, or transportation costs—may require us to add a surcharge.

Any surcharge will be limited to the actual increase in costs. If the total increase exceeds 10% of the original trip price, you may cancel within 10 days after receiving notice and receive a full refund.

Insurance

All travelers joining a 2North Expeditions are recommended to carry travel insurance. We strongly recommend a comprehensive policy that covers trip interruption or cancellation as well as lost, delayed, or damaged baggage.

Travel insurance and/or medical evacuation insurance is required on some trips and will be clearly stated on both the trip webpage and the detailed brochure, or communicated before registration for bespoke itineraries.

You can peruse options from our travel insurance partner Wanderwell here.

Itinerary Changes

2North Expeditions may adjust the itinerary, accommodations, routes, transportation, or activities when necessary. We make every reasonable effort to operate each trip as planned, but changes may be required—even after the final itinerary has been issued.

By booking with 2North Expeditions, travelers understand that schedules, routes, transportation, accommodations, and activities may change without advance notice because of mechanical problems, flight cancellations, illness, strikes, weather, political disputes, border restrictions, or other unforeseen circumstances.
